Patrick Gunnels was involved in an early promotion of the “I have a PhD in Virology and Immunology” statement, which Poornima Wagh became the second incarnation of.
Was Poornima the original author? and leaked her own words anonymously starting in April 2020? When then Patrick read, and “Dr Derek Knauss” reposted attrubuted to “Rob Oswald, PhD, Cornell”?
Or were Poornima and Patrick reading for the same script authoried by parties unknown?
I have published previously concerning the oddities around his 2020 “viral” video… A hoax, falsely attributed (a rare double hoax!), which purportedly concerned exposing the truth about a REAL, 4D, extant virus hoax, SARS-CoV-2.
It’s a Hoax within a Hoax about a Real-Life Hoax.
This is a Strange Loop so twisted to surely impress Douglass Hofstadter!
Patrick was an imposter, an inadvertant phony, according to Patrick. An innocent bystander, who innocently was simply “Reading Epic Threads”, which is one of his current projects. That’s what he does! Dramatic readings of epic threads.
Patrick was reading from a script, which I can first date back to Dec 6, 2022, posted by a Blogger account named “Sojourner”, which was later deleted (so it appears now as Anonymous).
Notice that Sojourner posted an anonymous, unattributed, quoted passage.
I have heard persistent rumors that this statement first appeared on the internet Spring 2020. [Update 9:20 PM: Patrick Gunnels himself on his show live now, just said this statement began April 2020].
So Patrick claims that he simply did a dramatic reading of this anonymous, unsourced, unverified statement.
No fact checking or verification needed!
Anonymous, unsourced quotes? NOT A PROBLEM!
But then multiple third parties, unbeknownst and unrelated to Patrick, clipped his dramatic reading, and falsely attributed it to others.
(Including a real guy, Dr. Robert Oswald, whom I actually know! who had to deny ever having said that; and a possibly fictional character.)
These multiple third parties have no apparent connection to Poornima Wagh, “Dr Derek Knauss”, the REAL Dr Robert Oswald, or to each other.
What?
There are multiple fact checker sites (e.g.,[1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]) which debunked Patrick’s video, and the statement. Despite that Patrick has a large internet presence, failed to contact the Fact Checkers to describe what had happened, he can’t produce the complete video which was the source of the clip, and he never made a video explaining his side of the story.
Huh!
Patrick was in fact, a DOUBLE imposter, because how these multiple third parties falsely attributed it. (It was unclear whether the person in the video, Patrick, was the author of the statement or not).
The attribution made was to “Dr Robert Oswald” and to “Dr Derek Knauss” (who may be a fictional character, and is associated with a Doomsday UFO cult called “Prepare for Change”, who are waiting for “The Event” and to prepare for the aftermath. They follow a spiritual leader named “Cobra”, )
The website was created as a voice for the New Society Groups started at the New Society Conference in May 2013. At inception the website invited other followers of Cobra to join the Network and Groups to Prepare for the Event and help create the New Society. Now the website has up to eight hundred thousand views per month and fifty thousand members. With 2600 articles available to read as well as information needed to organize and prepare groups for the Event and create a New Society. The website is supported by donations and staffed with an all volunteer team of web professionals with a mandate to build a site able to handle the influx of visitors expected at the time of the Event, while also supporting the New Society Initiatives requested by the Group Leaders, Volunteers and Members.

It seems like they have a connection to the Vatican?
I don’t know what to make of all this, friends.
But this Cobra UFO Doomsday Cult, is connected to Dr Derek Knauss, who helped FIRST push out the Poornima Wagh Script, and so did Patrick Gunnels.

And to make matters more convoluted: Sister Poornima Wagh is connected to a different religious sect with cult-like qualities, called WITTS Ministries (World Improvement Through The Spirit).
Apparently they see themselves as architects of global systems.
Their members many major inventions and new technologies, according to them. Hopefully for benevolent purposes?

I keep looking for the bottom of this story, find the underlying structure which ties it all together into a rational, consistent narrative… but it keeps going deeper and deeper like a fractal. I’m thinking this may be bottomless… a trap.
PS: Patrick is now threatening me with a lawsuit. He said I hurt his feelings, that I lied about him twice, with intent to harm him.

As you can see, I was polite and courteous to him, while expressing the oddities of the story to him. I offered him my ear, a correction, and a public apology if warranted, if he would just have a chat with me to discuss the facts. I would give him the floor.
As you can see, he was evasive, abusive, answered none of my questions, and then blocked me.
He accuses me of defamation, but cannot name one false statement that I’ve made, let along proven that I made these statements with malicious intent, to cause him harm. (I wish harm to no being.)

[UPDATE 11 PM] Wow, that was a great show, bravo to all.
Some great intro music. (I was pretty involved in the Houston Metalblade scene ~1994, Galactic Cowboys, King’s X, Awful Truth… a couple of tracks sounded similar.)
The only thing I cringed at a bit is all the Trump/Q Anon stuff at the beginning. The core people in #TeamNoVirus are either apolitical, or they keep the politics fairly private.
(I thought the Joe Biden video was HYSTERICAL!)
I admit I really like Patrick his persona, and I agree with Mike that he did great (not perfect) against Steve Kirsch*.
If Patrick was a random person, who didn’t have a strange connection to this story, in a couple of ways, then I’d think he was the greatest. I’d be a big fan.
Patrick did a great job tonight. Two great guests, he kept the show moving along. (although Eric’s audio was super compressed digital-squishy). Patrick seems to know this material, and seemed to be genuinely expressing his support, and believe what he was saying.
* I just don’t know why anyone would volunteer for that mission [Kirsch staged “debate”]. I know these arguments frairly well, but I see no value debating Kirsch, but a ton of possible exposure/liability. I explained this all here.
But Patrick’s OK with that.
I guess he’s got thicker skin than I do.
But then he says that I’ve hurt his feelings,
and he wants my address so that he can sue me for defamation (x2).
I’m getting a mixed message here, w/r/t the thickness of Patrick’s skin.
I just want to know the truth.

I feel like I am in the audience, observing a performance of John Cage’s 4’33” performed on a refrigerator, with crickets chirping drifting in an open window, and the cat trying to grab a snack.
The performer is actually also a witness, an observer.
And the audience is part of the performance.
Anyway, I’m really sorry if I’ve hurt your feelings, Patrick Gunnels. That was never my intent, to defame you, or to harm you. I’m just trying to understand what this all is.
But understanding is one thing.
Compassion and kindness is another.
If you think I’ve been unkind to you, then I am sorry.
I bear you no ill will whatsoever.
I want to destroy this false narrative that we have.
And I want to rely upon trusted voices, as you say.
And I do not want to be suspicious or paranoid.
I still want to hear your version of the events of the 2020 video, and again, I will correct the record, and issue you a public apology if I got some fact wrong.

Thanks for the heads up Bill. Would have been nice to see Patricks feet held to the fire a bit more like asking the questions around correcting the fact checkers and never releasing a video explaining. I suppose at the end of the day there are easy excuses he could make for this regardless of what the truth is.
He crafted the interview to enamor himself with the guests and leave the tricky questions until there was almost no time left at all.
Maybe regardless of what the truth is, he has left himself out on a limb far less than Wagh did, so may have to receive the benefit of the doubt for lack of evidence if nothing else.
Interesting to hear Erics thoughts that he suspects Poornima may be behind the 1500 sample story from the very beginning. I'll look forward to any writings he might do exploring the evidence around this.
Your analogy of a trap seems apt. Its maybe even lucky Poornima's pronouncements were so bold and so easily fact checked. I imagine the way disinfo like this might normally work is simply a never ending rabbit hole with no source truth to be found but plenty of hours to be lost looking for it.
