Your analogy of a trap seems apt. Its maybe even lucky Poornima's pronouncements were so bold and so easily fact checked. I imagine the way disinfo like this might normally work is simply a never ending rabbit hole with no source truth to be found but plenty of hours to be lost looking for it.
